At AMO, we are committed to driving growth and delivering exceptional value to our clients. As we continue to expand our presence in the UK, we are looking for a motivated and results-driven Business Development Representative to join our team.

The Business Development Representative (BDR) will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and driving revenue growth within the UK market. This role involves identifying, reaching out and qualifying potential customers, building strong relationships, and working closely with the sales and marketing teams to achieve business goals.

What a typical day as a BDR looks like

Prospecting and lead generation: Find and investigate possible clients in the UK market. Use different tools to create lists of prospects with detailed contact information. Use different techniques like cold calling, email campaigns, social media, and networking to generate new leads.

Pitching the AMO value propositions and services: Articulate and pitch our unique value proposition and comprehensive suite of services to prospective clients. This includes identifying client needs, showcasing how AMO Consultancy’s solutions can address those needs, and effectively communicating the benefits and ROI of our services. Your ability to engage potential clients and convey our strengths in a compelling manner will be crucial in driving our business forward.

Qualifying leads: During the initial pitch, drive subtle qualification process to understand the needs and requirements of the prospect. Assess their fit for our products/services and gather relevant information.

Building relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospects, understanding their business challenges and how our solutions can address them.

Collaboration: Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop and implement effective strategies for lead generation and conversion. Provide feedback and insights from the field to help refine marketing and sales approaches.

Sales pipeline management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities and prospect interactions in the CRM system. Track and report on key metrics, including lead generation, conversion rates, and sales performance.

Market research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities within the UK market. Use this knowledge to identify potential growth areas and refine business development strategies.

Skills and qualifications

1. Sales skillset

  • Proven experience in a business development, prospection sales within the Software development industry – Minimum 2 years
  • Being able to demonstrate pitching capabilities to top deciders including C-suite, leaderships team members and middle management.
  • Strong understanding of the UK mid-market and large enterprise business landscape.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with prospects.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Proficient in using leads contact enrichment tools, email campaign software, CRM software and other sales tools.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field.

2. Personal skillset

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organisation
  • Ability to make formal and informal presentations to prospects
  • Must be able to work independently or as a part of a team and be self-motivated
  • Must be willing to travel, occasionally (UK wide)
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of personal and professional integrity
